Pastor of faith, healer of the sick and author Chris Oyakhilome is known to his fans as Pastor Chris. He is also the president of LoveWorld Incorporated. Also called Christ Embassy. It is headquartered in Lagos. His unique interpretation of God’s Word has been a source of inspiration for thousands of people across the globe.

Pastor Chris: The Man

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on 7 December th, 1963, in Edo State, Nigeria, was raised in a family that was a faith-based one, and was surrounded by loving and devoted parents. He was the oldest of four children of the elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the early pioneers of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina, and the mother of the Oyakhilome family, who imparted her faith in God’s grace upon her son from an early age.

The entire family is involved with the LoveWorld ministry. Reverend Ken is his brother and the revered pastor at Christ Embassy’s Houston Texas Church. Pastor Chris has two children: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon chose to follow in her father’s footsteps in sharing God’s Word with all people. Also known as CSO (Community Service Organization), she is a gifted gospel singer and is a part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts community.

Chris Oyakhilome Family Pastor Chris Oyakhilome attended Edo College and was awarded an award from Bendel State University to study architecture. He also holds an honorary doctorate in divinity awarded by the Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was where he discovered his calling to serve the Lord and go into ministry.

Pastor Chris The Mentor

The Man of God created what would eventually become one of the biggest church congregations in the world when the man was still at the university. He had an unassuming prayer group known as “Youth for Christ,” which later grew into one of the most well-known organizations of its type on campus. It also served as the basis of the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated with millions of followers around the world.

The LoveWorld ministry was founded under the direction of Pastor Chris. It is a pioneer in satellite TV, Christian TV production and programming. LoveWorldSAT was the first Christian television station broadcast out of Africa to the the world, 24/7, nonstop on free-to-air networks. Christ Embassy has a strong presence throughout Pastor Chris’s native Nigeria. The church has two healing schools, which are based in South Africa.

Music and Gospel Music are an important element of the worship. Pastor Chris is adamant Christ Embassy Churches that a choir be trained through Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry. Many of these singing talents will go on to have success as solo artists under the guidance of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was a passionate philanthropist who founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation (COFI) an independent, non-profit foundation with the goal of aiding the most vulnerable communities and people in the most impoverished regions and nations of the globe.

In addition to proclaiming the gospel, The Man of God also established NGOs which are tasked with providing essential aid and hope to the needy, poor or neglected. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome COFI has five partners who support it, all of whom are dedicated to improving the standard of living in the remotest regions.

COFI is responsible for the InnerCity Mission ICM for Children, the Volunteer Medical Corps VMC, Traumacare International Foundation TCIF, Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) as well as the Bible For All Mission. Each of the organizations works to improve health, lives and spirits of those in need.

The charity also provides financial support to children who are in poverty. Pastor Chris believes in building strong communities by promoting responsible governance and accountability in leadership. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, Pastor Chris is also a proponent of sustainable development in Africa and other areas of Africa through COFI.
