Deidentified administrative records pertaining to these individuals were matched and merged to form a comprehensive longitudinal database with variables originating from behavioral health information systems (psychiatric diagnoses, hospitalizations, demographic characteristics); civil and criminal courts (gun-disqualifying adjudications); corrections (incarcerations); vital records (date and cause of death, gun involvement in suicide); and public safety (arrests, gun involvement in crime).
